During his official visit to Uzbekistan on April 16, Mr. Edward Kim visited Tashkent Region to pay a courtesy call on Mr. ZOYIR TOIROVICH MIRZAEV, Governor of Tashkent, discussing the ongoing progress of the Nurafshon-Korea New City Project, and various ways to cooperate.

 

"Nurafshon-Korea New City Project" has been actively forming a project execution consortium company with working-level consultations since the signing of an MOU between Nurafshon City and the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association on April 28, 2021, to develop a Korean fire education center, Korean general hospital, university, and the new city on the land of about 150ha.

 

At today's meeting, Governor Mr. ZOYIR MIRZAEV promised to do his best to provide all related support because the Nurafshon project is an important national project. He also requested Mr Edward Kim, First Deputy Chairman of the Association, to ensure the success of the project from the side of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association as well.

In addition to this project, Governor Mr. ZOYIR MIRZAEV asked for cooperation and support in the medical industry, agriculture, and education sectors. Mr. Edward Kim, the First Deputy Chairman, decided to make an official visit to Uzbekistan in the first half of this year with the big economic commission by selecting outstanding Korean companies that correspond to the needs of Tashkent Region.

 

Meanwhile, the Tashkent Region delegation, represented by Governor Mr. ZOYIR MIRZAEV, is scheduled to visit Korea in the first half of 2022, and the two sides agreed to actively support the Korea - Uzbekistan Business Association and the embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the official schedule, including promoting sisterhood ties with Korean local governments, conducting various industrial inspections and signing investment agreements.
