Negotiations on the development project for the New City of Nurafshon …

On April 25, in the city of Nurafshan, a meeting was held between the khokim of the center of the Tashkent region, Muzaffar Saliev, with the first deputy chairman of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association (KUBA) Kim Chang Keon. Khokim Muzaffar Saliev noted that targeted measures are being taken at a rapid pace in Uzbekistan to expand and grow the economy of the capital region, which includes the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region. Khokim Nurafshan said that the Government of Uzbekistan has approved a project for the integrated development of the city. In this regard, he expressed the interest of the Uzbek side in the implementation of joint projects with leading economic structures from South Korea and called on the management and member companies of KUBA to actively participate in the process of attracting reliable partners to the city of Nurafshan. The head of the city administration stressed that the project for the development of Nurafshan provides for the creation of a new educational infrastructure, in connection with which the Uzbek side hopes for cooperation in the construction of a university, schools and preschool educational institutions according to South Korean standards. First Deputy Chairman of KUBA Kim Chang Keon emphasized that taking into account the growth rate of industrialization of the city of Tashkent and predicting the emergence of a certain number of challenges in this regard, the project on the development of the city of Nurafshan promoted by the khokimiyat will make a great contribution to solving the problem of overpopulation in the capital of the country. Kim Chang Keon assured the khokim of the regional center of his most active assistance in the construction of multi-apartment modern residential complexes and a university in the city of Nurafshan based on the South Korean type and teaching methods. The meeting was also attended by the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Viktor Pak, representing the Nurafshan constituency No. 94, the deputy khokim of the city Umid Ubaydullaev, the head of the KUBA representative office in the Fergana region Yun Jun Sok, the executive director of the Evergreen Motors company Wang Jun Ho, as well as responsible leaders of the city khokimiyat. Following the negotiations, the parties decided to prepare a draft Memorandum of Cooperation on the implementation of these projects and on April 29 to sign this document.
